H.E. Nodar Khaduti, Minister of Finance of Georgia attended a meeting held in Gori by the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia with entrepreneurs operating in Shida Kartli. H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia presented a new program initiative - Strong Region for Strong Georgia at the meeting.
«We are particularly accountable towards residents of Shida Kartli. This region requires special care from national authorities, as war traces do not usually vanish easily» noted the Prime Minister of Georgia. He spoke about past and present projects implemented in the region, along with some plans for future. According to the Head of Government, residential blocks with 480 units will be built in Gori and foundation to this will be laid this year. This housing is intended for internally displaced people. This year over 8 MLN GEL worth of support is earmarked for 75 490 beneficiaries for the land cultivation works in spring.
«We do our best to make sure that Shida Kartli recovers soon. We feel particular commitment towards these people. It is very important that residents of the borderline get due support and create most favourable conditions for the locals at large» noted H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia. He once again called businesses for active engagement in the development of the region and pledged full support from authorities.
Prime Minister of Georgia also met local authorities today and heard information on projects currently implemented in the region. Meeting was attended by members of the Cabinet of Ministers, Governor of Shida Kartli Region, Mayor of Gori and Rayon Executives.
