H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Mr. Piere Guislain, Director of Global Practice of ICT and Transport Group of the World Bank in Washington D.C. He also met with Mr. Jordan Schwartz, Head of Global Infrastructure Facility within the scope of his US trip.
Discussions with the Global Practice Director of Transport and ICT Group of the World Bank were related to the topics of future cooperation. Officials of the international financial institution stressed the significant function of Georgia in global transport, communication and infrastructure projects. Keen interest was expressed to have the World Bank more actively engaged in the project initiatives carried out by the country in the referred areas.
Discussions with the Head of the Global Infrastructure Facility were related to the potential projects to be financed by GIF in Georgia. As Mr. Schwartz noted, GIF stands ready to consider projects, which will be suggested by the authorities of Georgia. He expressed hopes that Georgia will be among the countries benefitting from GIF projects. Minister of Finance assured the GIF management in full readiness of the country for the anticipated cooperation.
Another meeting held by the Minister of Finance of Georgia was with the Georgian staff of the World Bank and IMF. Participants talked about macroeconomic parameters of the country, measures planned by authorities for the economic stability and development.
