OLYMPIC FLAME ARRIVES IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF GEORGIA



H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia attended the ceremony welcoming the Olympic Flame in the capital city of the country with other Members of the Executive Government. Olympic Torch was handed over to H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, who officially lit the Olympic Flame at the Freedom Square.

“I wish to congratulate all with the entry of the Olympic Flame to our capital city. We have a fabulous day today! Exactly two months ago, on the Independence Day of Georgia it was lit in the Olympic capital of the world – Athens. It was intended for our country! This flame went through the entire country. In exactly 9 days Tbilisi will host one of the most prominent sports festivals. Tbilisi is ready to be the home of the European Youth Olympic Festival this year. I want to wish our glorious sportsmen a great success! I strongly believe that we will by all means win plenty of gold medals!” stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Entry of the Olympic Flame to Tbilisi was marked with a concert held on Freedom Square of the capital city.
