MINISTER OF FINANCE ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN BATUMI



13th international conference titled as the European Quest of Georgia – Stability, Development, Diversity was launched today in Batumi. H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia attended the event.

H.E. David Bakradze, State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Mr. Rastislav Kacher, Honorary Chairman of GLOBSEC Policy Institute officially launched the conference.

Mr. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Extension and H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia addressed the audience.

Following topics are covered at the conference: relationship between EU and Georgia, key priorities of Slovakian Presidency, empowered engagement of civil society, role of EU support in the process of the European integration of Georgia. Focus will be made on the issues of EU neighborhood policy, experience and challenges in the countries of Eastern Partnership. Main discussion points include the implementation process of the EU Association Agreement of Georgia and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA), along with issues related with visa-liberalization, geo-political situation in the region and current challenges of security.

Traditionally, 13th international conference of Batumi is attended by legislative and executive authorities of Georgia, officials of EU and member states, senior governance officials from Easter Partnership countries, civil society, academia and media.
