First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Finance Dimitry Kumsishvili got acquainted with the work of “Kazbegi” border checkpoint, which is located in the Northern part of Georgia, at Georgia - Russia border, and which is the only automobile traffic customs checkpoint to Russia.

First Vice Prime Minister received detailed information in regard to what other means exist to avoid Kazbegi customs control or to efficiently detect secretly moved goods or un-safe product import in the country and for the purpose of protection of the plants located at the country’s territory from the pest invasion.

Number of passengers as well as cargo turnover is increasing from Kazbegi border checkpoint annually. More than 2.6 million border crossing was reported in 2016, higher by 6% compared to the last year’s indicator of the same period.

First Vice Prime Minister was accompanied by the First Deputy Minister of Finance, Head of LEPL Revenue Service Giorgi Tabuashvili and Head of Customs Department of the Georgia Revenue Service, Vladimir Khundadze.
