H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia held a meeting with Chargé d’Affaires of the United States of America to Georgia, Alan S. Purcell.
 
The meeting was attended by Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia and Amir Alavi, Economic and Commercial Officer of the Embassy.
 
The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. The Minister of Finance of Georgia briefed the American diplomat on the country’s economic stance and medium-term forecasts. The discussion also touched upon the recent visit to Georgia by a representative of the State Department, Jonathan Asconas and highlighted the effective work of the Customs Department, as well as cooperation in sharing Georgia’s experience in customs control. The conversation further addressed mechanisms for the effective enforcement of international sanctions in Georgia and noted the efforts undertaken by the Customs Department in this regard.
 
The parties also discussed regional transit corridors, including the TRIPP project initiated by the US President, the promotion of international trade and Georgia’s role in this process.
 
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed on further steps for cooperation.
