Georgia to Receive €200 Million from the ADB for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Rural Water Systems

H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Lesley Bearman Lahm, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a loan agreement today allocating €200 million in long-term financial instrument to Georgia.

The agreement envisions the construction and rehabilitation of sustainable, standard-compliant water systems in rural areas of Georgia. 

It is noteworthy that the program marks the first use of the Asian Development Bank’s Results-Based Lending (RBL) mechanism in Georgia.

The execution agency of the program is the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia, while the implementing agency is the United Water Supply Company of Georgia LLC.
