In Indonesia, within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, the Minister of Finance Ivane Matchavariani met with the Deputy Director-General of the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Katarina Mathernova.
The sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Georgia and the European Union. Attention was drawn to the importance of new Macro-Financial Assistance of EUR 45 million allocated to Georgia by the EU in early September.
As the Minister of Finance said, the aim of this financial support is to strengthen the economy's sustainability towards foreign risks and promote the development of inclusive economic development in the country.
At the meeting, attention was drawn to the Government's planned reforms in support of the small
Director-General of the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations emphasized the progress achieved by Georgia on the path of European integration. She also talked about the financial support provided by the EU in order to implement energy efficient projects in the country.
The sides also discussed other priorities of cooperation with the European Commission.
