H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia introduced the new Director General of the Revenue Service, Irakli Beraia, to the staff. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Finance, was attended by Deputy Ministers of Finance and heads of structural units of the Revenue Service.
The Minister of Finance thanked the former Director General of the Revenue Service, Levan Kakava, for his service and wished him success in his future endeavors. As Lasha Khutsishvili noted, during Levan Kakava’s tenure, the reforms carried out significantly improved both control and service functions.
During the meeting, the Minister spoke about the importance of the Revenue Service’s activities and the fulfillment of the goals outlined in the agency’s 2025–2030 strategy. He emphasized that the new head would be supported by an experienced and professional team. He expressed hope that under the new leadership, the planned measures in tax and customs administration, as well as support for a fair and transparent business environment, would continue effectively.
The new Director General of the Revenue Service thanked the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance for their trust. As Irakli Beraia noted, in recent years, many important reforms have been implemented in the Revenue Service, including in areas such as digital transformation and service development.
He stated that he is ready, together with the agency's staff, to continue working on the successful implementation of strategic priorities aimed at delivering even more efficient and modern public services to citizens.
At the meeting, the former Director General of the Revenue Service, Levan Kakava, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Finance for his support during the reform process, thanked the staff for their dedicated work over the years, and wished Irakli Beraia success in his new role.
