H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Mr. Ulrich Bengston, CEO of Betson Group and his Georgian partners on August 12, 2015.
Parties discussed Georgia’s investment opportunities and business environment at the meeting. Minister of Finance briefed the visitors on the tax legislation, public and private partnership practices.
Minister of Finance also talked about the events of international magnitude that have been hosted in Georgia recently: Annual Meetings and Business Forums of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), European Youth Olympic Festival and Super Cup Final of European Football.
As noted by Minister of Finance of Georgia, Tbilisi will soon host the Sixth Round of Negotiations organized by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). New Silk Road Forum is planned with an initiative of H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia. Interested national authorities and international organizations will participate in the event.
As mentioned during the meeting, such events increase the public awareness and exposure of Georgia, attraction of investments, economic growth and development. Discussions also focused on the future plans of Betson Group, associated with additional investments in information technologies of Georgia and utilization of local qualified engineering potential.
Minister of Finance expressed hopes that meetings of the Betson Group CEO in Tbilisi will be fruitful and company will manage to extend its operation in Georgia with new investments.
