“MACROECONOMIC FACTORS AFFECTING THE NATIONAL CURRENCY ARE FULLY ABSORBED” STATES MINISTER OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA

H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia commented on the exchange rate of the national currency. He believes that GEL-affecting macroeconomic factors have now been fully absorbed.

“We expect currency appreciation in a medium term. As for the current situation, we need to note that none of the State Budget transactions or refinancing loans of the central bank have had any negative impact on the exchange rate” stated Minister of Finance of Georgia. In his opinion, MOF and NBG are actively interacting with each other to address the issue. “We get information updates on a regular basis and work in a coordinated manner” added the Minister.
