15 million euros to improve the ecological and social environment of the capital



Today, the Minister of Finance of Georgia Ivane Matchavariani and the Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus, Bruno Balvanera signed a loan agreement on "Tbilisi Solid Waste Project".
The document envisages allocation of 15 million euros for the purpose of managing solid waste in Tbilisi. Namely, this amount will be spent on improvement of infrastructure of Tbilservice Group Ltd and purchase of appropriate equipment. The project will have significant environmental protection impact and will serve to improve the ecological and social environment.

Within the Project, the project and Supporting Agreements were signed today by Deputy Mayor of  Tbilisi  Municipality  Maia  Bitadze,  Director  of  "Tbilservice  Group"  Levan  Jgharkava  and Regional Director of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus, Bruno Balvanera.

As of today, the amount of financing allocated for Georgia from EBRD to implement more than
200 projects is about 3 billion euros, from which 90% is directed to the private sector.
