Within the framework of the agreement, the Government of the People's Republic of China will allocate grant to Georgia in the amount of 100 million Yuan (about $ 15 million), which will be used to purchase inspection systems for customs-check points in Georgia.
The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance will receive the equipment purchased within the free aid.
The equipment acquired within the free grant ensures speedy implementation of the targeted customs control, in order to avoid potential threats on the border, will promote security protection and simultaneously will reduce the duration of customs checking procedures, which is a step forward in the development of legitimate and effective trade cooperation.It is noteworthy that from 2005 up to now, within the framework of economic and technical cooperation, about 62 million USD are allocated in form of grants by the government of the people’s republic of China, while as the preferential credit – about 4.3 million USD.
within the financial support are funded the priority economic and technical cooperation projects for Georgia, which are selected on the bases of the parties Consultation.
By the financial support of the Government of the People's Republic of China was implemented and is currently undergoing psychiatric institutions Infrastructure Improvement Project for the councils of the Ministry for IDPs from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Affairs (Psychiatric hospitals construction in Senaki and Telavi) as well as it is supporting irrigation and greenhouse farming in Georgian agriculture, acquisition of equipment needed to fight against Asian “Parosana” and equipping the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance with appropriate equipment. In addition, in the nearest future, the project of creating youth hubs in the regions of Georgia is aimed in order to promote healthy lifestyles, entrepreneurship and innovations and other activities.
