On February 14, the Minister of Finance, Ivane Matchavariani met with Sandeep Mahajan, World Bank Practice Manager for Macroeconomic, Trade and Investment Global Practice, who is on a working visit to Georgia.

The meeting was attended by the Regional Director of the World Bank in the South Caucasus, Mercy Tembon and the representatives of Regional Office of the Bank.

The parties discussed the macroeconomic parameters of the country, the issues of cooperation between Georgia and the World Bank, the support capabilities of priority sectors and directions for the country by the World Bank. 

The World Bank is one of the most important donor financial institutions, thanks to the financing of which many economic reforms are carried out in the country. Also, the World Bank is a partner of the government in the development process of education reform and human capital project implementation.


At the meeting, the parties shared their views on the prospects of cooperation in order to support priority directions.
