Capital city of Georgia hosts another international forum on June 19-21, 2015.
Annual Meeting of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Board of Directors and Governors Meetings will be organized within the keynote event.
High-ranking officials of 11 member states of BSTDB, international organizations and businesses will participate in the event.
Business Forum was launched within the scope of the Annual Meeting at Rustaveli Drama Theatre on June 19, 2015. It was dedicated to the topic of Enterprise Development and Access to Capital in the Black Sea Region. It was launched by H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia and Mr. Ihsan Ugur Delikanli, President of BSTDB.
Mr. Giorgi Kadagidze, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and Governor of BSTDB for Georgia is engaged in the discussions together with H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. Business Forum was attended by H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance and Alternate Governor of BSTDB for Georgia along with Mr. David Lezhava, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia.
The keynote event is of paramount importance for the international public awareness of the country, as the high ranking delegates and participants of the Business Forum are exposed to the economic and investment potential of Georgia.
Bank of Georgia has concluded over 123 million Euros-worth of 24 projects, out of which 11 are currently in progress and their total value is almost 65 million Euros.
Business Forum is another pre-condition for the increased portfolio of the Bank of Georgia for its diversification, regional presence and project financing. Besides, it will facilitate the intensified trade relations between the member states of BSTDB.
It is significant that Cooperation Strategy developed by BSTDB for Georgia with a timeframe of 2015-2018 covers the government programs and priorities.
BSTDB will support export of goods and services, development of infrastructure inter alia for energy efficiency. BSTDB also plans to finance small and medium enterprises, along with trade facilitation.
BSTDB was established in 1994. It is worth noting that its Incorporation Agreement was signed in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Central Office of BSTDB is stationed in Thessaloniki, Greece. Among its founding member states are 11 countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
BSTDB is aimed at funding regional projects and programs, trade facilitation between its member states and overall economic development in the Black Sea region.
